Organic Farming – Desirable Living Conditions for the Livestock
One of the admirable aspects of organic farming is that the animals reared under such conditions are treated well and lives in comfortable environments. They are not pent up in an overcrowded area with little space for movement. They don’t have to fight with their peers for space and food. For example, in conventional farming; chickens are all cramped in coops and pretty don’t have space to stretch and move around. This inhibition causes stress to the chickens and it has been widely said that the texture of factory farmed chickens to organically reared chicken is inferior. Organically reared chickens have ample space to move around and they are not pumped with antibiotics to speed up the fattening processes. They tend to be more resistant to diseases as they are not stressed out. As such organic poultry does not contain traces of antibiotics or chemicals that may lead to negative health repercussions over a prolonged period of consumption.
