How to View Art at a Gallery
The saying, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, certainly is true. Several people can stare at a picture on canvas and each one might have a different opinion on what they think the picture represents. From a photo image to a painting, sometimes individuals have a hard time making up their mind if they really like an image. It’s the same when you go inside an art gallery. If you’re looking to buy a painting or just attending an exhibit for a friend, it’s easy to get intimidated by all of the artwork. The best approach is just to be open-minded when you are viewing a painting or a drawing at a gallery. Look at it without taking it too serious especially if it’s an abstract painting. Just let your mind take in the image and see the creativity within the painting. Make sure to read the title of the artwork and read the statement of the artist’s biography. This will usually give you an idea of what the artist had in mind when the picture was painted and you can get a feel for the artist’s style.
