Hobo Charley's Surf TV

So I am beginning to suspect that at least part of the reason Charley is able to spend so much time sitting in the parking lot smoking dried pickle weed from a discarded toilet paper tube bong, may be due to his obsession with the ukulele. Of course Charley loves all things Hawaiian (like shaved ice and Dog the Bounty Hunter), but he really loves him some tiny, tinny, mini-guitar.

Behind the squinty, bloodshot, 1000 yard stare of the American hobo there is nearly always a story of loss and betrayal. In Charley's case, it a story of a meteoric rise and near instantaneous and clearly tragic fall. Charley's story is the story of many a pro surfer who succumb to the curse of the pink rash guard. This film was taken moments before Charley took 3000 volts in the freak electrical storm that hit HB in the summer of 87.
