Tourmo Trip

Clem and I split town Friday afternoon for the apparently sharky waters of South San Diego. Our friend Bryce was throwing an opening party for his shop Modele (French for Tres Bitchin, I believe) and being the fashion forward fellas that we are, we needed to make the scene.

With One California Day playing on the gigamundo flatscreen TV, retro groovy guitar/drums jazz from the Mattson 2, and a shop full of really intricate hand screened tees Cass St. was the place to be.

Inspired by the groovy Jazz and the success of Bryce's opening, Clem went right to work on a new set of robot prints, one of which he offered to Bryce (license free) for possible inclusion in the next screening run.

So if this sounds like a shameless plug for a friend's shop, well it is. The next time you are in Pacific Beach, make it a point to stop by.

Whenever Clem and I stay overnight in PB we stay at the fabulous La Jolla Biltmore. With spacious rooms and ocean front property views, it's our luxury resort hotel/motel of choice when visiting PB. Plus it's walking distance from the Westy and the Bahia and that means it is also walking distance from the former club house of the PB Surf and Racket Club.

The surf was not epic, but it was fun. The highlight of the trip for sure was Clem, he surfed really good all Saturday morning and as we were getting out he ran up to Skip and kid yells "Hey Skip, I can stand up now!". Classic.
